law and order

A few weeks ago, Sean and I were at his parents house on Sunday afternoon hanging out with the fam. As it was getting later in the afternoon, Jameson was asking us what would be a good court case. We soon discovered that Jameson and Hayley get together with their neighbor friends on Sunday nights and play "Law and Order". It originated because Karlie and Brooklyn (10 year old girls) had some disagreement and so they came up with the idea to make it a court case to solve the problem. Needless to say, Sean and I thought this was hilarious. Every Sunday night at 7 Law and Order goes down without fail. So, we decided we wanted to join in.

Here we have Judge Hayley

Lawyer Jameson and client, Jake

Action shots

Lawyer Jaimie questioning Jake

And Lawyer Jameson questioning my client, Karlie

Lawyer Jameson won, how that happened when my own husband was in the jury, I know not. Oh well, I'll get 'em next time!

i'm losin' it

I am slowly but surely losing it. I know I have a terrible memory, but this is getting ridiculous. All too often these days, I seem to find myself walking into my class, sitting down, the professor starts up about some homework assignment and I honestly have no recollection of ever being assigned said homework assignment. Okay that is a little exaggerated, but really, I only vaguely (and I mean the vaguest of vaguely) remember the assignment. It's like my brain has gone on a permanent vacation, and let me tell you, it's definitely not a good thing.

Here's a couple of examples:

1. Yesterday I had my music class. In my music class we have to make a book out of a song. We have this huge packet of songs to choose from, right? So I flip through all the songs and only find a few that I would like to do. I picked Pumpkin, Pumpkin. It's almost Halloween, I had some fun ideas, so I went for it. [back to yesterday] we had to turn in a storyboard, a rough draft of how we wanted to make our book to turn into our professor so he could make sure we were on the right track. I was sitting next to Ginger and we were talking about our storyboards and she asks which story I chose, I reply, "Pumpkin, pumpkin" and she replies, "Isn't that one on the list of songs we can't use?" My thought process, "CRAP! There is a list we can't use?! Oh wait, I kind of remember something about a list we can't use..."

Long story short, we check the list and sure enough, Pumpkin, Pumpkin was on it. So, I waited until after class to talk to my professor about it. My plan was to show him that I had done the assignment, but I had totally forgotten about the list and chose a song from it and ask if I could turn a new one in next time. As he is looking over my storyboard he said that I had taken a very original approach and he would allow me to use it and put a little check mark on the top of my paper. 10 points for Jaimie!

2. I was in my drama class on Tuesday night and we made sock puppets. [Yes, I make sock puppets in college] Anyway, we got an assignment in class to finish our puppets and got partnered up to perform a 3 minute puppet show next class (Thursday) Then she gave all these other instructions and I swear I listened to every word. Okay, so on to Wednesday, I was in my dance class and was talking to a girl that just happens to be in my drama class and she mentioned this paper we had to write to go along with our puppet show. Immediately my brain goes into panic mode as I realize I had NO CLUE what she was talking about, then I thought about it a little more and again, I kind of remembered the assignment.

Well that's it for now, hopefully I can get my act together, or start bringing a tape recorder to class...

What a great weekend

Last weekend was so so wonderful, after a super crazy week.

1. I was bored for 5 days straight. 5 tests for Sean equals NO FUN for Jaimie!
2. One test for Jaimie equals super easy and totally stress free. My major is great :)
3. Kylie got married!!!!! Her and Casey equal perfect couple (pictures to come!)
4. I was a bridesmaid for the second time. First time equals when my dearest brother and sister in law got married.
5. Sean was taking a test so he missed the sealing and the reception...like I said earlier, no fun for Jaimie.
6. My boss was sick for two days equals Jaimie was pretty busy trying to keep things under control at work.

Once Friday was over, I felt relieved. Sean was done with tests and we could just relax and hang out all weekend. I was very excited for that. We went up to Salt Lake with the Tanner clan and stayed in the Residence Inn to hang out and watch general conference Saturday and Sunday. During priesthood the girls went to Ladies Night Out at Robert's (a craft store) where we had some bad luck and didn't win any prizes, but it's okay because Hayley and I had a glitter war and I got some good video of her trying to heel click. (it's classic). Needless to say, we were a little out of control. We took Jameson out to practice driving (he just turned 15 and got his permit) and we had a good old time reminiscing about dad's getting angry at new drivers...And now we're back at school, ready for a new week; hopefully not as busy as the last :)
