couple cuts

On Saturday I took the plunge! I finally got my hair cut and colored by someone in Utah! [Yes, it's a big deal] It looks great and I really like how it turned out. Sean got his hair cut while mine was processing, how cute are we? Couples that get their hair cut together stay together, right? Not only did we get our hair cut, but we also got free dinner and a movie afterward, now that is what I call good service.

In other news, 6 days until Arizona! I am so excited to go home for the holidays and spend time with my family. Great weather, great food, great company, great traditions, and lots of laughs; it is going to be fantastic!

Last night we went to a fancy neighborhood Christmas dinner that Sean's aunt and uncle hosted. They served turkey steaks with fruit, scalloped potatoes, green beans, and rolls with cake for dinner. It was very delicious! Afterward Sean and I stayed and played a rousing game of Catch Phrase with some of his cousins and his aunt. It was boys against girls and ridiculously competitive. There were a couple of husband/wife couples and let's just say it was a bad idea to have them on opposite teams. It got a little heated! Oh well, it definitely made for some pretty entertaining situations.

On Friday night I had a final from 6-8 where I had to present a lesson plan I wrote for 15 minutes. I did this sweet lesson on the French and Indian War, the Stamp Act and the Boston Tea Party. After that, I headed to Miss Jenna's bridal shower with Marci. It was so much fun! Jenna tried on her dress for us and she looked beautiful! I'm so excited for the real deal. I got to hang out with the girls from high school, which is always a blast.

All in all, it was a great weekend. Now, onto finals...

oh and ps, happy 4 months to us!

a word about haircuts

About a week and half ago, Sean let me go somewhere where no one should ever let me of all people go.

He let me cut his hair.

Let's just say I made my mark[s]. Everything went pretty well until I attempted to trim up the sides of his hair, that awkward area where the sides meet the top. The first cut was waaaaay too short and resulted in a dent in the side of his head. whoops...So after that Sean got a little concerned with my hair cutting abilities and tried guiding me through the rest of the cut. He was convinced we would have to buzz it all the way but after shortening the rest, we decided it didn't look too terrible. It was a disaster and that is all I really know. I now know why I never went to beauty school. I will just stick with elementary education for now.

On the flip side, I am now a married woman and won't be going to Arizona nearly as much as I used to. As a result, I have a predicament. I have been going to the same hair dresser since 6th grade and now I need to find someone in Utah to do my hair. Anyone know of anyone who is good and pretty cheap? Let me know! Also, I am considering cutting it and going darker [not as dark as that one time though, it was too dark]. Also, the cut would probably be medium, nothing shorter than my shoulders. I don't know though, let me know what you think!

It wasn't that bad, I promise!!

law and order

A few weeks ago, Sean and I were at his parents house on Sunday afternoon hanging out with the fam. As it was getting later in the afternoon, Jameson was asking us what would be a good court case. We soon discovered that Jameson and Hayley get together with their neighbor friends on Sunday nights and play "Law and Order". It originated because Karlie and Brooklyn (10 year old girls) had some disagreement and so they came up with the idea to make it a court case to solve the problem. Needless to say, Sean and I thought this was hilarious. Every Sunday night at 7 Law and Order goes down without fail. So, we decided we wanted to join in.

Here we have Judge Hayley

Lawyer Jameson and client, Jake

Action shots

Lawyer Jaimie questioning Jake

And Lawyer Jameson questioning my client, Karlie

Lawyer Jameson won, how that happened when my own husband was in the jury, I know not. Oh well, I'll get 'em next time!

i'm losin' it

I am slowly but surely losing it. I know I have a terrible memory, but this is getting ridiculous. All too often these days, I seem to find myself walking into my class, sitting down, the professor starts up about some homework assignment and I honestly have no recollection of ever being assigned said homework assignment. Okay that is a little exaggerated, but really, I only vaguely (and I mean the vaguest of vaguely) remember the assignment. It's like my brain has gone on a permanent vacation, and let me tell you, it's definitely not a good thing.

Here's a couple of examples:

1. Yesterday I had my music class. In my music class we have to make a book out of a song. We have this huge packet of songs to choose from, right? So I flip through all the songs and only find a few that I would like to do. I picked Pumpkin, Pumpkin. It's almost Halloween, I had some fun ideas, so I went for it. [back to yesterday] we had to turn in a storyboard, a rough draft of how we wanted to make our book to turn into our professor so he could make sure we were on the right track. I was sitting next to Ginger and we were talking about our storyboards and she asks which story I chose, I reply, "Pumpkin, pumpkin" and she replies, "Isn't that one on the list of songs we can't use?" My thought process, "CRAP! There is a list we can't use?! Oh wait, I kind of remember something about a list we can't use..."

Long story short, we check the list and sure enough, Pumpkin, Pumpkin was on it. So, I waited until after class to talk to my professor about it. My plan was to show him that I had done the assignment, but I had totally forgotten about the list and chose a song from it and ask if I could turn a new one in next time. As he is looking over my storyboard he said that I had taken a very original approach and he would allow me to use it and put a little check mark on the top of my paper. 10 points for Jaimie!

2. I was in my drama class on Tuesday night and we made sock puppets. [Yes, I make sock puppets in college] Anyway, we got an assignment in class to finish our puppets and got partnered up to perform a 3 minute puppet show next class (Thursday) Then she gave all these other instructions and I swear I listened to every word. Okay, so on to Wednesday, I was in my dance class and was talking to a girl that just happens to be in my drama class and she mentioned this paper we had to write to go along with our puppet show. Immediately my brain goes into panic mode as I realize I had NO CLUE what she was talking about, then I thought about it a little more and again, I kind of remembered the assignment.

Well that's it for now, hopefully I can get my act together, or start bringing a tape recorder to class...

What a great weekend

Last weekend was so so wonderful, after a super crazy week.

1. I was bored for 5 days straight. 5 tests for Sean equals NO FUN for Jaimie!
2. One test for Jaimie equals super easy and totally stress free. My major is great :)
3. Kylie got married!!!!! Her and Casey equal perfect couple (pictures to come!)
4. I was a bridesmaid for the second time. First time equals when my dearest brother and sister in law got married.
5. Sean was taking a test so he missed the sealing and the reception...like I said earlier, no fun for Jaimie.
6. My boss was sick for two days equals Jaimie was pretty busy trying to keep things under control at work.

Once Friday was over, I felt relieved. Sean was done with tests and we could just relax and hang out all weekend. I was very excited for that. We went up to Salt Lake with the Tanner clan and stayed in the Residence Inn to hang out and watch general conference Saturday and Sunday. During priesthood the girls went to Ladies Night Out at Robert's (a craft store) where we had some bad luck and didn't win any prizes, but it's okay because Hayley and I had a glitter war and I got some good video of her trying to heel click. (it's classic). Needless to say, we were a little out of control. We took Jameson out to practice driving (he just turned 15 and got his permit) and we had a good old time reminiscing about dad's getting angry at new drivers...And now we're back at school, ready for a new week; hopefully not as busy as the last :)

Why I love Ella Jones...

After finally getting all of my wedding pictures and looking through them, I couldn't help but notice that Ella is quite the drama queen. That little girl is hilarious and I absolutely love her to death for so many reasons.

One of those reasons is simply because she can go from sweet to sour in about .5 seconds. For example...

(Thanks for those pictures Kristen!)

Next, she is the sneakiest, most mischievous little girl in the world.

I can only imagine what she is thinking about here, you can see the mischief in her eyes!

And this is just one of many pictures I have of her sneaking some food from the serving tables

First she smiles and acts all innocent...

Then she goes for the kill!

The last reason I love Ella is because she loves me. (Or she did on my wedding day at least!) That girl never wanted to leave my side, I think I have more pictures of me and Ella than I do with Sean! She thought I was a princess and told me I was beautiful the entire day. She is my little buddy and I love when I get to see her when I'm home.

She insisted that she sit on my lap when we took the family pictures.

She caught the bouquet...and then proceeded to chuck it back at me right after. It was so funny, I definitely wasn't expecting that one! It's alright, at least she posed for a picture with me after.

This little girl is such a doll, don't you agree?

one month

I figure after a month of wedded bliss I should probably blog. Did you read that right? I said one month. How in the world has it already been a month?! Beats me, but I do know that it has been one great month and I am definitely looking forward to the gazillion that are still to come.

I will tell you a little about the pictures, because they are kind of random. The first is a picture of me and Sean at his friend Charles' wedding luncheon. Then we have Sean the grilling master for our Labor Day bbq. Next we have Sean the handy man putting together his little study desk. Lastly we have a very delicious back to school dinner...made by me. I think it was also the first real meal we had once we finally got our new pots and pans and other cooking utensils.

Keep Your Eyes On The Road

Recently, I’ve discovered one of Jaimie’s secret talents that, I think, not too many people know about. While I’m fully aware the closer a couple gets to marriage, (and even after being married) the more you uncover about each other. However, I’m not entirely sure how I should react to this one.

Jaimie has a unique talent of stopping people dead in their tracks when she walks by. By that I mean, she causes other males to enter a coma like state, lose control of whatever they were doing and drool as she walks by. This isn’t just a one-time observation either. I’ve carefully charted several instances of this happening and have come to the conclusion that while I’m around Jaimie, my chances (as well as others) of being involved in an accident significantly increases. see fig. 1.1 Here are just a few of my carefully recorded observations:

Over the course of our relationship, I noticed an increase in cars swerving into our lane while driving when they get a glimpse of Jaimie in the passenger seat. Earlier today in fact, as Jaimie walked over to apply for her new job, she halted the construction of a building on BYU campus while the Mexican workers stopped and stared as she floated by. Yet the danger doesn’t stop at physical harm only; but extends into the financial aspect of life as well. Last night, for example, we quickly stopped by Target to pick up some thank you cards. As we went to pay, our poor young cashier as well was mesmerized by Jaimie. I almost had to reach over the counter and ring up the sale myself.

As the reports clearly show and due to my recent discovery, I’ve taken the necessary precautions and invested in a bike helmet, shoulder, arm and knee pads and a nice pair of double thick safety glasses. It’s not easy being forced to deal with life threatening situations on a daily basis, but somebody certainly has to do it. Plus, I really don’t mind being the lucky guy who gets to be transfixed by her every day. All I know is that I’ll be asking for double the “protection” blessings in my nightly prayers!

i love sundays

I will be the first to admit that BYU singles wards can be extremely ridiculous, and that I really haven't enjoyed any of the wards I have been in since I came to BYU. So after moving into a new apartment once winter semester was over, I was expecting my ward to be the same as usual and perhaps even harder to enjoy since church is held at the testing center at 8:30 in the morning, but I love my ward. Everyone has been so genuine and sincere and the spirit is always so strong. I realize that enjoying church and feeling the spirit has a lot to do with my own attitude, but something about this ward has made that so much easier for me. I think when I was younger I enjoyed church because I always had lots of friends in the ward and got to be in the same classes with them and talk, but I actually look forward to going to church now because I need that spiritual upliftment that comes from partaking of the sacrament and having lessons about the gospel every week. It really is the best way to look back on the past week and figure out how I can be better and draw nearer to my Savior. I love it. I love how I feel after church and the renewed desire I feel to become better. I love the gospel, it's great!

Meet my bike, her name is Jaimie...

Sean and I were out riding bikes the other day when out of nowhere my bike just flipped out on me and was switching gears without me even messing with it. I told Sean that it was randomly switching gears on me and he just brushed it off and said it was fine. As it kept happening I was getting frustrated with it and made Sean watch and listen as it was happening. Laughing, he told me nothing weird was going on, but little did I know I had bought a bike that could interpret my needs for me and change gears accordingly. As we were nearing the end of the bike ride Sean was getting more and more amused with the situation as I was getting more and more annoyed. It was then that Sean came up with a ridiculous comparison, he said my bike was feisty just like me! Who knew I could compared to a bike?!

So there you have it...if I was a bike, this is what I would look like.

funfunfun

Alright, so the last post was a little dramatic...

For me, the 4th of July must include three things:
1. Swimming
2. Mom's brownies
3. Fireworks

and it turns out I got all three!

We started out the day with a nice float down the Provo river with some of Sean's friends. Don't even worry, it was freezing, beyond freezing...but after a while it kinda started to feel really nice. We got nice sun burns and my legs are peeling now...two weeks later?! So this is a picture of us trying to squeeze onto my tube because Sean didn't have one and we thought we could just both use mine. Luckily someone had an extra one that he borrowed, I don't think we would have made it down otherwise.

This is mostly for the fam...yes I can bake and yes I can make food actually look presentable! I look sick nasty after not getting to shower after the tubing adventure, but that's beside the point.
Here we are sitting right outside of the stadium right before the fire works started. We walked over from my apartment and found a nice spot in a parking lot...on the asphalt...and I'm not going to lie, we had the best seats of everyone. The fireworks were right in our faces and I absolutely loved it, I just love fireworks.
I wish the pictures could do them justice! They were awesome!

i...miss...my family

I think there is something about the holidays that always makes me miss my family, even a smaller one like the 4th of July. It's hard to be here in Utah thinking about all the fun I am missing. This year they are headed to Uncle Joe and Aunt Christie's cabin in Heber, AZ and I am so jealous! I also know I am missing out on my mom's famous 4th of July brownies, which is a total bummer. I am going to try and recreate them myself, but it's always better when Mom makes them...that's just a fact of life.

There they are!

This is from last year's 4th of July party at my grandparent's house. These are a bunch of great grandkids with my grandpa

Me and Becky. Weird that she is married now and I'm about a month ad 10 days away

Grandpa and Addison in the pool

I love this picture of Ella, she's got her goggles on upside down and half filled with water

And there's Annie, being sassy...what else is new?!

6.25.2009

another one bites the dust...in a good way!

So if you know me at all, you know that my traveling experience is pretty limited. I will say though, that I am extremely lucky to have gone the few places I have gone.

With that in mind, this last weekend I added another state to my list...Idaho! Sean's grandparents live in good ol' Blackfoot, Idaho. They returned from their mission in Samoa a few weeks ago and reported in church this last Sunday. A couple of his aunts and uncles also drove up with their kids and we all stayed in his grandparents house together. It was a little crazy, but fun to be around all of them!

For those of you who are wondering where I have been, here's my list:
(I am only including places that I have actually done something in, not places where my plane has landed or the corner of a state I have driven through)

-Arizona
-Utah
-California
-Hawaii
-Missouri
-Illinois (Nauvoo)
-New York
-Cancun
-Idaho

Volcano Burritos

So here's the latest and greatest...EhSean is always craving anything ehsuper ehspicy, so when we saw a commercial for Taco Bell's new volcano burrito we knew we had to try them out. Truth be told, they aren't too spicy, but that doesn't mean they aren't delicious! After, we were talking and I was thinking that it wouldn't be hard to make our very own volcano burrito, so the next time we were at the grocery store we bought some ingredients and tried it out. Well folks, it was a success! We made them at Sean's house while his parents were at the temple and so we ended up feeding the entire family. Drew, Jameson, and Hayley all agreed that they tasted great. When Sean's parents came home his dad said, "it smells really good in here" and we said that's right, you are smelling the volcano burrito!

5.25.2009

happy memorial day!

First of all, it's been a very long time since I have blogged! I try to make Sean update for me since I hardly ever have time, but he has yet to go for it. Anyway, this summer has been really fun so far. Sean and I have started going on bike rides and I usually love it...until he takes me up ridiculous hills and I nearly die. It's fun to get out in the sun after a long day at work and just enjoy being together. Another new favorite is playing Life with Jameson and Hayley. It's a great game when things are actually going your way, but when they're not it's not quite as fun (ask Jameson) Jameson's biggest problem is that he never goes to college and gets stuck with a lame job and always gets the lowest salary every time we play. As a result, one time Sean decided to let Jameson gamble to try to earn back money because he was so poor he couldn't even afford a house. The most ridiculous thing is because of that Jameson ended up winning the entire game!!

My parents came up on Mother's Day weekend and they actually did bring Annie. I was sooo excited! Annie slept over at my apartment every night they were there and I loved getting to spend so much time with her, she's my favorite. While they were here we went shopping all day long to find the perfect dress...I ended up picking the second one I tried on. I am in love with it! On June 6th I will go in to get all my alterations taken care of and I am super excited to get to wear it again! On Mother's Day, me, Annie and Sean put together a dinner for my mom. We made enchiladas and salsa. I have picture proof for anyone that doesn't believe me, I really can cook, who knew? They left early Monday morning and I was very sad to see them go, but lucky for me, Sean and I are flying to Arizona this weekend for my cousin Becky's wedding. We are excited to go down and spend more time with my family. I think Sean is most excited to go down and spend time with Cooper, Ella, and Addison, and I don't blame him because they are so cute. Cooper calls himself a Wii master (which he pretty much is) and Sean says he's not leaving Arizona until he beats him in a Mario Kart race at lease once. We'll see how that goes....

5.02.2009

"I like jobless Jaimie better"

So this was my first week staying in Provo with no school. I traded that in for a job at the bindery with none other than Marci Wright. It gets better, Marci is now my roommate. So we spend a glorious 8 (9 when you include lunch) hours together every day at the bindery just chatting and doing special projects. After work, Sean picks us up and we go to our apartment and hang out until about 9 or 10 and then I check out for the night. It's rather ridiculous! It's been a hard adjustment getting up so early because if you know me, you know that sleeping is probably my favorite thing in the world. I like the job though, me and Marci have a grand time. It's funny because Marci tells everyone there that we are best friends and as a result no one will ever split us up. When there is only one spot open in the back someone will find a different project for us to do so we can be with each other and talk.

In other news, wedding plans are starting to really take shape. I am getting really excited about everything! My mom is great and is coming up with really cute things slash ideas for the reception. I picked bridesmaids, and let me tell you this is NOT easy. There are so many good friends I would have loved to have but with family and everything there are 8 bridesmaids!! My parents are planning on coming up to Provo next weekend (I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hoping they will bring my most favorite sister with them) so they can meet Sean's family and perhaps some wedding dress shopping will be going down as well. I am really excited to see them. It will also be Mother's Day weekend, so it will be great to spend it with my beautiful mother.

4.16.2009

for a limited time only...

One of my friends wisely pointed out that Sean will only be my fiance for a limited time. Once August 14th rolls around he will be affectionately known as husband or 'hubby' [for the rest of my life] depending on my mood. While we were dating I always [and by always I mean sometimes] liked to call him 'boyfriend' for fun because it's super cheesy but also because that's what B. Davis always called Lucas. Anyway, it is now my favorite thing to say 'fiance' any chance I get. I'm telling you, if we could wear out words, this one would be a dead as a doornail. Sean usually texts me good morning when he knows I am most likely finally awake and I always reply back, "good morning fiance!". Anyway, Sean will only be my fiance for four more months and I am trying to live this "limited time only" up while I can! haha I hope Sean can handle it!

4.14.2009

Bam shazam!

It is such a good feeling knowing I am done with school until Fall...well, minus finals anyway. We all know that I am going to rock those though, so it's not even a problem. Bring it on!!

4.08.2009

This one's for you, grandma!

For any of you who did not know, the countdown was for my birthday. Now that it's my birthday, the countdown is over! Today I am officially the big 2-0! It's kind of weird that I'm not a teenager anymore, but it's nice to finally join the 20's club with all the rest of my friends. So far I have had a great week as far as birthday celebrations go. The fun started on Sunday after conference. Ginger made some delicious BBQ chicken pizza for my birthday dinner. Then on Monday Sean's family had a little birthday celebration for me and Sean's brother Drew. They surprised me with this cute book Sean's mom made for me. It is absolutely adorable and I love it! I also received my birthday package from my family. Then yesterday was my "birthday eve" as Sean named it. My very sweet friend Rachel brought me a dozen pink roses and my two very sweet roommates Kate and Stephanie put some very intriguing packages with birthday cards on top. Today has been awesome too. Everyone just wants to buy me food, and give me a birthday phone call, and just play with me. I love it!! Birthdays just make you feel special and that is what I love about them.
Grandma, thanks for calling me today! It was SO great to hear from you, and I love you so much!!
By the way, I still don't know what the "surprises" are that have been planned, but when I do find out I will let you know!

as of late

I just uploaded some pictures from my camera and realized I have been up to some fun stuff lately that needs to be blogged about.

The birthday boy himself!
[with his presents from muah]

At Chili's for Sean's birthday dinner

This is the road trip crew all gathered at the Mesa temple. Me and Sean decided to go check it out while we were there and as we were walking around we spotted none other than our fellow road tripee's. We followed right behind them for a good five minutes before they discovered us. I am pretty sure Marci called us creeps, but it was funny regardless.

This is the "after jenny craig saved my life" picture.
Nah, me and Sean were at Target and I saw these babies, I just couldn't resist. It's quite possible Sean was embarrassed of me...

One day we were at Sean's parents house and his sister, Hayley, decided she wanted some chocolate but no one would take her to the store. I told her me and Sean would love to take her. She ended up with three bars of hershey chocolate and this ice cream...cone. [if you can call it that!] It's called the kong, and I was impressed!

The very same day as the chocolate run we were sitting in the family room and I picked up this huge book in there all about Samoa. Me and Sean flipped through it looking at pictures and such and I said, "I'm pretty sure Brother Bott server his mission in Samoa forever ago" Little did I know, I got to the end of the book and they had listed all the missionaries that have served in Samoa, and there Brother Bott was! I got really excited and had to take a picture.

One of those presents Sean was holding just happened to be tickets to the Suns game last Saturday night. Okay so it was technically the Jazz game since it was up here, but I'm from Arizona and therefore it was the Suns game. So this is us at the Suns game :)

The view from our SUPER good seats...haha, can you tell I'm poor??

This is a picture of the second time the Suns finally pulled ahead. I tried really hard to get a picture when the score was 77-78, but I didn't get my camera out fast enough and Sean was thoroughly amused when I missed it.

Peas in a Pod

Well, as soon to be co-author of this blog, I thought I'd make a sneak attack while Jaimie is in class and write the top 3 things about the girl I love!
1. I don't think anyone has ever been more excited to hang out with me before. I'm often surprised to find her on facebook or gmail chat while I'm at work to keep me company and provide a real-time countdown of when she gets to see me again. It's a wonderful thing knowing somebody is always that excited to see you.
2. Jaimie and I go together like peas in a pod. Whether it's grocery shopping, dropping my hooligan brothers off at random sporting events or friends' houses, Jaimie is always willing to come with me. It's fun to have somebody like her around all the time to talk to and chat about life with. Plus it's come to my attention that she is one smart cookie and is full of lifesaving wisdom. :)
3. Last but not least, I love Jaimie because she's somebody who makes me want to be a better person. It might surprise many of you, but even I need a little encouraging sometimes. In fact the perfect example just popped into my mind. During a very intense series of basketball games, Jaimie told me she would buy me ice cream if I kept my mouth shut and didn't yelling things at the refs. While this might seem like a simple thing to do, you'll soon find out that the Tanner family is often the most vocal on the court. (I hope Marci is nodding her head and laughing in agreement with this right now) Sure it's simple and might seem dumb, but Jaimie is always helping me become a better person!

Truth be told Jaimie is the best thing that's happened to me and I'm one lucky duck to have her in my life.

XOXO.. Gossip Girl
oops I mean Sean haha

One of those days

Have you ever had one of those days when you wake up totally happy to be alive, ready to conquer the world? That's how I felt when I woke up this morning. It was such a good feeling! I am used to waking up and getting ready, dreading class, and thinking about the next time I can get in bed and go back to sleep. I feel like that is how this entire semester has gone for me, so it was a pleasant surprise to actually feel ready for the day today. I woke up to a good four inches of snow, ice, and a freezing cold temperature, but I was so happy about it for some reason. Anyone who knows me knows that is a miracle, unheard of. I hate the cold and the snow! Anyway, I just thought this was a noteworthy event in my life and just thought I would share! :)

3.27.2009

Who even likes surprises?

I have a problem. My birthday is in exactly 11 days from now. The big 2-0! It should be fun, but here is the problem...Sean has been telling me for a month now that he already has my birthday festivities planned. That sneaky little devil, it's not fair! I remember the week before his birthday a couple weeks ago I was SOO stressed trying to figure out what I was going to do for his birthday. It was his first one back after the mish and I wanted to make it fun and exciting for him. It was while I was trying to get it all planned that he broke the news to me that he already had mine all planned out. LAME. Well not lame, but not only does that make me look bad, more annoyingly it got me all excited and really had my interest peaked. I don't like secrets especially when they are about me! I just can't stand not knowing and having to wait. I'm a little impatient, what are you going to do about it?

Flash forward to yesterday afternoon. Location: the wilk, terrace to be more specific. Me and Sean were talking and somehow my birthday came up. Then I had a bright idea, I was going to trick Sean into telling me his plans for my birthday. I said, "Sean, I think you need to tell me what you have planned for my birthday because I have some plans of my own and I don't want to mess up what you already have planned" He looked at me like, really?, and thought I was just messing with him. I assured him that I really did have some plans up my sleeve and I think he started to believe me. Only problem: he said that was fine and our plans wouldn't get in the way of each other's. Blast! He got me, so I admitted defeat and told him I really didn't have plans. He then proceeded to get a smug grin on his face and laugh at my feeble attempt to get it out of him.

Now jump to this morning. Location: my lovely apartment. Ginger texts me and asks what I want to eat for my special birthday dinner. Sean was standing right there and said, "Ugh she texts you back and not me?" I got a little confused because I hadn't been texting Ginger before, so I asked if Ginger had asked him what he wanted for dinner. He said no and I asked what they had been texting about and that is when Sean got all sketchy again. He told me they were all plotting against me and had secret plans that I can't know about. According to Sean, everyone is in on these secret plans now. LAME! I don't think I can wait 11 days to finally be let in on all the fun.

best.week.ever

It has recently come to my attention that this could very possibly be the best week of my life. As of yesterday I only have three more classes for the rest of the week. How fantastic is that?!

Well folks, I'M ENGAGED!

After a crazy five months, Sean and I decided to get married! It finally became official last Wednesday on the 18th and I couldn't be more excited. The story behind the whole proposal is pretty great...let me start from the beginning.

A few weeks ago me and Sean started talking about getting married for real and we both got really excited about it. Before I knew it we were telling our parents, going ring shopping and making plans to take a trip down to Arizona so Sean could meet my family. We had an awesome time down there even though we weren't there for long. We checked out the Mesa temple because that's where we are getting married! I am so happy about that, I love that temple! There is also the fact the Grandpa Chambers is a sealer and will be sealing me and Sean.

So flash forward to Wednesday night. I went to Sean's basketball game, which he did amazing and his team won of course. As we were driving back to his apartment he was asking me what we should do and we decided we were going to watch Hercules. That's right, Disney's Hercules. So I am sitting on the couch waiting for Sean to shower real quick and get dressed so we can watch the movie. When he finally came out he asked, "what do you want to do?" I'm thinking to myself, "we already decided to watch Hercules, crazy!" So I told him I thought we were going to watch the movie. Then he says that he just didn't think he wanted to watch it anymore, and suggested we should go swing. I immediately got suspicious. So I cheated. I looked at his pocket. And I saw the outline of a box. A box that most likely was holding my future ring! Oh glory, I was excited.

We got in the car and went to our special little park. We swung and played on the playground and had a fun time. Then we were walking around and I could tell Sean was trying to find a good place to plop down on the old knee and ask the question. We ran into the most ridiculous things like such as...a guy and girl having...a good time in the grass, longboarder chicks flying kites and boarding at the same time, a weird guy spelling 'GO HOME' with the bark that was on the side of this pond and more. So Sean was sweating it out a little trying to find a good spot and then decided he just wasn't going to find that perfect spot and just went for it. He pulled out the box and got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I said YES, of course! And it's been pure bliss since!

The best part of the story has to do with me not having a phone. I accidently left my charger in Arizona when we went down, so after a few days it totally died. So of course Sean proposes to me when it's dead and I had no way of spreading the good news! [you have no idea how many threats I got concerning the alerting of certain people that I was engaged, so you can imagine my concern] In the end it all worked out and we are happy as can be!

There it is!

Oh and there I am looking reeeeeal cute. I promise it's on my left hand, for some reason the camera on my computer made it look opposite. Yeah, I'm just as confused.

Let's talk about research papers...

BANE OF MY EXISTENCE! Whoever thought 12-15 page research papers were a good idea? I am currently trying to put together some solid research for my paper, but this is not going so well.

#1 reason why this is lame.
My professor had us write up proposals for our research papers. The basic idea behind this was to see what exactly we were going to write about and make sure we were on the right track. [by the way, this class is for the elementary education major, so our papers have to do with education in some aspect] So, I waited until the very last minute to write mine up and was pretty proud of what I came up with. I chose to research the impacts of recess on classroom learning and I actually really like my topic. I guess I should say I was pretty proud of what I came up with.

A couple days after I turned in my proposal, he handed them back to us graded and what not. I flip through and see lots and lots of mark ups all over my paper, then I turn to the last page and see a big 80 staring me in the face with some other comments from my professor. Here is a part of what he said, "As a proposal-there's a good general idea and feeling, but not any real solid details, quotes, data that gives the reader a sense the promise of the proposal will be fulfilled. That said, I'm sure you'll do fine on the paper. Good luck" Are you serious?? I get shut down and then he wishes me luck. Oh dear...I'm in trouble...

#2 reason why this is lame.
The BYU online library thing is ridiculous. All of the good articles can't even be found online, which makes me unhappy because I am lazy and would just like to be able to do this research from the comfort of my own apartment. Sit on the couch in my pj's and slippers and just relax, but no! Instead, I have to go to the actual library and try to find the article I want somewhere in the abyss which is the Harold B. Lee Library. I figure that if I really have to do this lame reserach paper I should at least be able to be as comfortable as possible throughout the experience. The library is just not comfortable.

Alright, I am done complaining. It's really not that bad, I really do like my topic and it's interesting to me. I just need to suck it up and get to work! Okay, back to work...wish me luck!

Happy Birthday to Sean!

So I am going to risk being super cheesy, deal with it! When I posted about some of my favorite things, Sean asked me why he was not on the list. I said, "Sean, that is super cheesy. That is why I did not mention you on the list". [apparently that was an offensive post, I apologize to any and all that took offense]

Needless to say, it's Sean's 22nd birthday today! I have been super excited about this day for about a week now. I would love to gush about all the plans I have, but I haven't revealed them to Sean yet. I can say that once that boy gets done with work the party is getting started! We are going to dinner and then heading over to his parents house for cake and ice cream. Woohoo! I'm just lucky he's been in Ukraine for his past two birthdays so anything I do for him will be super cool and fun comparatively. [not the serving a mission is not fun...]

Anyway, I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday, Sean. I love you!

I love a new discovery

I have a talent. A newly discovered talent. [ginger] may consider it a sinister one, but it's still a talent. Actually now that I think of it, I have always had this talent, just never realized how blessed I truly am.

Here's the deal...I know how to trick people. Sneakiness is my forte!!! I love to plan wild, crazy things and watch them play out.

This all started back in high school with me and Kylie Jensen. I had this freaky, obsessive crush on this boy and we came up with the most ridiculous plots in order to get him to notice me. It worker EVERY time, I kid you not. I would not endorse a few of the things we did [save yourself some dignity]

Well, I have been dating Sean for a while now and we love to do sneaky things to each other and judge who is sneakiest. [i always win at this game, that's what I like to tell myself anyway] For example, last semester I was in serious need of some chapstick. So Sean gets some chapstick and somehow gets it in my coat pocket without me ever noticing. It was nuts, it blew my mind! He finally had to tell me because I had no clue. That started my renewed love for plotting and sneaking around. I even have my sneaky laugh, it goes a little something like, "heh heh heh". It's fantastic.

Ginger turned the big 2-0 February 24th. Me and Sean wanted to do something nice for her, but she's pretty stubborn. So we plotted this huge scheme in order to get her in the car and take her to Applebee's for dinner. This involed me practically suffocating myself in the back seat of Sean's car while he picked up Ginger and told her they were going ring shopping. For more details visit gingeraliceinwonderland.blogspot.com.

Anyway, just the other day I posted about how I am a brat and only like my chocolate chip cookie recipe. Ginger took some serious offense to this and threatened to NEVER make cookies for me ever again. Within ten minutes after this threat I had her making some no-bake cookies of her own free will and didn't remind her of the threat until she had already made them. She was pretty angry at herself and I said, "heh heh heh". It was pretty funny!
There I am hiding, and hating life!
